The Benton County Republican Party, along with Grant and Douglas County Parties, has passed a joint resolution endorsing a lawsuit by the Citizen Action Defense Fund against the state regarding House Bill 1296. That Bill gutted and rewrote Initiative 2081 – the Parents Bill of Rights – signed by over 449,000 Washington Citizens. House Bill 1296 was then passed, as re-written, and signed into law by Governor Bob Ferguson earlier this year. 

Thanks to Let’s GO Washington and Brian Heywood, there is a new replacement initiative – IL 26-001 – to reenact the original initiative. Be sure you have signed it!
